Jonathan Chappelle: Enterprise AI, Infrastructure, and Solving the Content Problem

About six weeks ago, I started working at Prowess Consulting in a role that is best described as a strategic technology consultant for some of the biggest technology companies in the world. Basically, my job is to consult with our customers to understand their products and priorities, and to then work with our talented team to build engineering, testing, and content-creation programs that shape narratives around how those products address real-world challenges for enterprises.

This role allows me to indulge my passion for understanding how technology is shaping our world as I work with some of the most innovative companies that are bringing those technologies to life.

I am so excited to be building on my years of experience working across product marketing, go-to-market strategy, and—most recently—technical marketing with OEMs, ODMs, distributors, and resellers. The ability to bring that experience together with Prowess Consulting’s proven ability to create and drive impactful marketing outcomes is already generating a pipeline of new opportunities. These opportunities are driven by the wave of investment in IT as enterprises balance the desire to fund and deploy their AI and machine learning capabilities already in production with the need to modernize their infrastructures and data platforms.

As I anticipate the next 12 months, I am personally looking forward to three initiatives:

1. Bridging the gap to enterprise AI: Having had a front-row seat to the AI explosion over the past couple of years, I know that one of the barriers to enterprise adoption has been the difficulty of translating the promise of AI technologies into measurable business impacts. Prowess Consulting’s combination of full-service technology consulting and a dedicated data science and AI practice allows us to bridge that gap.

Our direct engagement with enterprise customers gives us exposure to some of the real challenges that those customers are facing today. It also informs our use of data science and AI to address those challenges, enabling us to build industry-specific expertise and tools.

Our consulting business allows us to craft compelling narratives around real-world AI solutions. We highlight the technologies and products that make the solutions possible and create sales-enablement assets that turn those narratives into repeatable, deployable solutions.

“One of the biggest barriers to enterprise AI adoption is translating the promise of the technology into measurable business impact—and that’s exactly the gap we’re bridging at Prowess Consulting.”

2. Modern workloads require modern infrastructure: As enterprises move their AI initiatives from pilot to production, resilient, costeffective, and scalable hybrid or multicloud infrastructure becomes essential. Prowess Consulting has a unique ability to engineer and evaluate modern workflows across hybrid deployment scenarios. We then make architectural recommendations for each component of the pipeline and build the technical salesenablement and marketing assets that our customers need to empower their sellers and their partners to make the best deployment decisions. Examples of modern workloads include:

AI-driven fraud detection in financial services, where each stage in the pipeline has different performance characteristics, in addition to security and compliance requirements, such as data ingestion and real-time inference on-premises and model training, analytics, and alerting in the public cloud.

Predictive maintenance in manufacturing, where data ingestion happens at the edge or on-premises. Feature extraction, data cleaning, and model training could be done in the public cloud, and inference could be done either in the public cloud or at the edge, depending on latency requirements.

3. Solving the content problem: Most marketers will tell you that more content is almost never the solution. This has become even more of a truism in the age of generative AI. Prowess Consulting is building a capability that uses data science and AI to finetune the narrative around products. This capability ensures that each message and each asset hits its intended audience with targeted content that breaks through in an increasingly noisy environment. This is an exciting differentiator that we will be able to leverage in two ways:

For our consulting and managed program customers, it will help them improve the ROI of their technical marketing and sales-enablement programs.

For our enterprise customers, we can provide ongoing insights into their marketing programs and customer engagements.

In summary, I am so glad to be at Prowess Consulting, working with customers and partners to bring technology to life through our unique blend of strategic vision, engineering know-how, real-world engagement, and full-funnel marketing services. I truly believe that we have a front-row seat for one of the most exciting times in human history, and the opportunities are endless.
