Prowess Consulting teams have worked to support Microsoft’s goals and growth for over two decades.
Engaging and serving with an inclusive ecosystem
Prowess is proud to be minority-owned, with a commitment to prioritizing equality, and inclusion throughout our organization. More diverse workforces have better business outcomes. Our diverse workforce enriches the entire Prowess organization. By bringing together a wide range of experiences we are driving innovation, fostering creativity, and addressing the needs and aspirations of a global audience.
For twenty years, Prowess has been a steadfast and reliable ally to Microsoft, always ready to extend our support to wherever it’s needed. Recognized as a Microsoft Preferred Supplier, our commitment to integrity and collaboration across Microsoft business units has propelled our expansion into Europe and Asia.
Most recently, we’ve expanded to Africa. Prowess created a subsidiary in Lagos, Nigeria that is growing to support Microsoft’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team.
“From the time of its founding, Prowess has embraced diversity within our organization, with our clients, and in the communities where we live and work. Prowess has grown an increasingly diverse workforce that today represents a rich racial, religious, and LGBTQIA+ body of global professionals. Prowess supports and champions diversity causes including financial donations to the National Association of Black Journalists and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. And our work isn’t done. We are investing in socially conscious business expansion aligned with tech industry and Microsoft corporate social responsibility initiatives, bringing the bounty of the technology industry to developing nations. We stand with our clients, especially Microsoft, in their commitment to diversity and celebrate achievements that responsibly drive better personal and business outcomes.”
-Aaron Suzuki, CEO
We share Microsoft’s commitment to developing tech talent in Africa. In H2 FY23, we created subsidiary in Lagos, Nigeria, to help scale the GRC compliance and automation program, and to support Microsoft developers in the West African Development Corporation AG (ADC).
Through our Nigeria operations we are reducing cost, scaling delivery, and bolstering Microsoft’s CSR efforts in the region while continuing to drive global compliance objectives.
In alignment with the United Nations' objective to expedite sustainable development in the world’s Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Microsoft is harnessing digital technology to broaden opportunities in LDCs, with Prowess as a supplier.
As a trusted and enduring Microsoft Preferred Supplier, Prowess deftly established operations in Nigeria. Within a year, we founded a fully compliant, Nigeria-based subsidiary, and quickly deployed a team of skilled software engineers and developers. Throughout this rapid expansion, we've upheld our hallmark: consistent, world-class delivery of bespoke solutions tailored to Microsoft’s exacting requirements.

Prowess’ talented team of 20 magnifies Microsoft’s key moments and corporate messages around the globe. This critical program, internally known internally as the Microsoft Stories news center, includes award winning journalists producing press-ready news stories that showcase how Microsoft technology changes the world.
The Stories page is consistently executed with excellence due to a supporting team of editors, project managers, and web producers.
Microsoft needed to develop, distribute, and manage a comprehensive set of software product demos to 40+ Microsoft Technology Centers (MTCs) around the world. The client needed additional subject-matter expertise and human resource bandwidth to successfully achieve this goal.
Prowess teams provide a turn-key solution to assume accountability for the worldwide network environment, operate the cloud infrastructure on which the solution runs, and manage all aspects of the development and release cycle.
As a result of the DOJ consent decree of 2001, Prowess was asked to assist Microsoft with creating and maintaining documents related to the Open Specifications program for SQL Server. Prowess drove a high-risk program of technical writing, editing, publishing and program management with high quality standards.
Since Prowess undertook this effort in the late 2000s, years of successful delivery resulted in the growth and evolution of our scope to include Windows Open Specifications documentation, support of key compliance workflows, event management, compliance testing, and development and testing of the app toolset utilized by Microsoft to support activities managed by the entire Governance Risk and Compliance organization.
Compliance requirements continue to escalate with new and increasingly complex regulations, like the Digital Markets Act, impacting the computer technology industry. Prowess remains committed to growing with and supporting Microsoft through these new, emerging compliance challenges to help Microsoft continue to prioritize strategic workstreams and deliver on its vision and mission.
